Davide Tanasi is Associate Professor and Director of the Institute for Digital Exploration (IDEx) at the Department of History and Affiliate Faculty with the Institute for the Advanced Study of Culture and the Environment of University of South Florida. His research interests include the archaeology of ancient Sicily and Malta, Mediterranean prehistory, biomolecular archaeology, archaeometry of ancient ceramics, computer graphics in archaeology, and digital communication of cultural heritage. He has authored over a hundred scientific papers in these fields and produced 3D documentaries about Sicilian archaeology and cultural heritage. Since 2013 he has been editor of the international scientific journal Open Archaeology.
