OLYMPIC KARATE

Karate made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The first appearance of the sport at the Olympic Games took place in Karate's country of origin, at the same venue that hosted the inaugural Karate World Championships—Tokyo's Nippon Budokan. Additionally, Karate was featured for the first time at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires in 2018. The sport has also been included in the programme for the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar.
