Eleanor Sinclair married Sir John Stewart, 1st Earl Atholl, Ambassador to England, son of Sir James Stewart, Black Knight of Lorn and Joan Beaufort, before 19 April 1475; They had 2 sons (John, 2nd Earl of Atholl, Lord of Balveny; & Andrew, Bishop of Caithness, Bishop-elect of Dunkeld) and 9 daughters (Katherine, wife of John, 6th Lord Forbes; Isabel, wife of John Stewart, 3rd Earl of Lennox; Margaret, wife of William Murray of Castletown; Jean, wife of Sir Robert Gordon of Pitlurg; Elizabeth, wife of Alexander Robertson of Strowan; Margaret, wife of Robert Robertson, younger of Strowan; Marjory, wife of Sir Colin Campbell of Glenorchy; Elspeth, wife of Robert Innes of Innermarkie; & Jean (Janet), wife of James Arbuthnott).[1]Eleanor Sinclair died on 21 March 1519; Buried at Dunkeld Cathedral, Perthshire.[2]
