Licensing

Template:HelpMe The site DigitaltMuseum (Q11125708) contains a large number of photographs licensed under Creative-Commons BY_NC_ND. As I understand it the NC part makes this license insufficient for Wikimedia Commons use, is that correct? If I want to refer to a few such photographs as relevant illustrations to Wikipedia articles, in my case showing the tombstone of a named person John Campanius (Q5601467), is there any useful remedy recommended and available, such as a hyperlink to the image repository?--SM5POR (talk) 08:42, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

Correct, that license is not suitable. However, this is the wrong place to ask about this. External links are used in references and in the bottom External links section. With few exceptions, a link to some media isn't appropriate. The talk page of the given article is a better place to ask. Prototyperspective (talk) 23:22, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
