DOW Support to the Southern Border

U.S. Northern Command is working with the Department of Homeland Security to augment U.S. Customs and Border Protection along the southern border of the United States with additional military forces.

On Jan. 22, 2025, President Donald J. Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border of the United States. Trump directed the department to take all appropriate action to support the activities of the secretary of Homeland Security in obtaining complete operational control of the southern border.
