This morning’s annual Tintern Grammar Cathedral Service for Years 7-12 was held at St Paul’s Cathedral. Bringing together our secondary students, staff and parents it was a moving celebration of connection and our Anglican tradition.
This year’s theme of transformation was perfectly captured by our guest speaker Eric Agyeman, author and inspirational speaker. Eric spoke of a troubled youth and how he overcame adversity to transform his life, sharing with us, how the power of faith helped him on his journey to rebuilding his life and making his future count.
The Cathedral was filled with the beautiful sounds of our talented choirs, soloists and orchestras and it was a joy to hear them lead our community in song and reflection.

Compass Day was a time for Tintern Grammar Year 7 and 8 students to step back from their classes to focus on social and emotional learning, and respectful relationships. Using a research-informed approach to wellbeing, students worked with their Pastoral Mentor through activities including assertive help seeking, emotional literacy, positive coping and self-talk scenarios. The day was also peppered with games, competitions, crafts and a conversation with Year 12 Student Leaders.

It's been a rewarding fortnight for the Tintern Grammar Geography Department, with three major fieldwork experiences across multiple year levels. Fieldwork is an essential part of Geography, connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences and providing students with valuable opportunities to investigate, analyse and understand the world around them.
Our Year 8 students travelled to the Mornington Peninsula to explore coastal geomorphology and investigate the natural processes that shape our coastlines.
VCE Unit 1 Geography students undertook a three-day field investigation to the Grampians/Gariwerd, examining the impacts of bushfire history within the region. Working alongside local community members, Parks Victoria Rangers and the team at Halls Gap Zoo, students are now applying their learning to their Outcome 1 SAC report focused on bushfire management and recovery.
Meanwhile, our Year 10 students spent a full day on Phillip Island comparing ecotourism sites and investigating resource use management and sustainability practices, before finishing the day with a visit to the world-famous Penguin Parade.
These experiences provide invaluable opportunities for students to develop practical research skills, deepen their geographical understanding and engage directly with the environments and communities they study.
