(sŭm′ĭt), Patricia Head Known as "Pat." 1952-2016. American basketball coach. In a 38-year career at the University of Tennessee (1974-2012), she set the record for most wins as a coach (1,098) in NCAA basketball history. She also coached the US women's basketball team to gold in the 1984 Olympics.
