Showcasing their skills and expertise in all areas of the culinary arts, the QACC team won gold for their work in the 'Master Showpiece' category and silver for the 'Chocolate Show Piece' section, taking part in a variety of competitive categories including live cooking demonstrations, fruits and ice carving, Qatari and international desserts, as well as the event's main gastronomical contest, the Salon Culinaire.

The unique skill showcasing activities and competition by the culinary arts students from college of tourism and hotel management, (COTHM), and professional chefs of the hotel and restaurant industry was held at the expo center, which include knife skill, fruit, vegetable and ice carving skills, cake making and decorations and other exotic culinary preparations.

A core team of 44 chefs from DWTC participated in the five-day event, demonstrating their culinary skills across multiple categories including Five-course Gourmet Dinner, Emirati Cuisine - Practical Cookery, An Arabian Feast, Ice carving, and Pastry Showpiece.

Leaving the competition with a gold medal in chocolate carving, a gold medal in open showpiece, a silver medal in live vegetable carving and silver medal in live ice carving.

In two and a half hours, the ice carving competition will be over.

This unforgettable evening of holiday cheer will also feature ice carving, face painting, snow cones and a flash fun photo booth to capture the bliss.

"Were going to try to do an ice carving above ground and then sink it below the ice and see how long it will last," he says.
