DESCRIPTION
HADESTOWN won 8 Tony Awards when it premiered on Broadway in 2019. It continues to run in New York City, London, and all over the world. HADESTOWN: Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation of the Broadway show, modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences. This intriguing and beautiful folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience.
Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and lady Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Mitchell’s beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love.
SUPERVISION & PAYMENTS
Chaperones and teachers will enjoy the performance as our guests, but we require that you have one chaperone for every 20 students.
Please provide the number of seats needed on the RSVP Form below, designating the number of students and number of adults.
Payment may be received as late as the day of the performance, and checks should be made out to “Riordan Drama.”
Please notify Greg Callaghan in advance if you anticipate an increase or decrease in the number of persons attending. Chaperones must sit with their student group to help maintain control.
I hope you can join us!
