Protect Yourself from Fraud: ID Theft and Credit Card Fraud
More than $17 billion each year is stolen from Americans by way of fraud. Learn how to detect identity theft and card fraud, what to do if you’ve become a victim, and how to prevent what you can in this fraud prevention presentation.

Property Crime 101

Property Crime 101 teaches you some of the best ways to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of property crime. Since property crime is the most common type of crime in Redmond, we look forward to educating our community members about it.

We will go over what to do if you find yourself as a victim and how you can best help investigators with the case. You will be taken through how Redmond Police handle property crime; from the initial call through the investigation and trial. We will cover a range of the most common property crimes including car prowls, auto theft, burglary and more.

Burglary Prevention Class

This class teaches strategies for protecting your home from burglars. Learn how to modify the exterior and interior of your home to reduce your chances of being targeted. Topics covered include home maintenance, lighting, alarms, cameras and how to secure doors and windows.

Personal Safety Class

Personal Safety Classes are geared towards individuals aged 14 and older. We provide safety tips for work, home, outdoor activities, driving, social outings and other scenarios. Learn how to protect yourself and your property.

This class also covers the pros and cons of different weapons for personal safety and how to legally and safely carry these. Please note this is not a self-defense course.

Preparing for an Active Shooter/Violent Intruder Class

Redmond Police Officers teach this class to provide tips on how to survive a violent intruder or active shooter. This class is appropriate for individuals aged 16 and older. This training will equip individuals or groups with mental and physical tactics to keep yourself and possibly others safe during violent encounters.

Remember, there are no guarantees in an active shooter/violent intruder situation, but just as in most other emergency situations the more you prepare, the better your chances of survival.
