Take Me Home Program

The Take Me Home program is for families with loved ones who have cognitive or developmental disabilities in case they go missing or experience an emergency. It is a free service designed for the safe return of loved ones who may have difficulty communicating or need special assistance in an emergency.

A family member or legal guardian may register emergency contact information for their family member with cognitive disabilities who lives, works, or attends school in Redmond. This information will help officers find and identify the individual if they become lost or disorientated after leaving home or act in a manner that could be misinterpreted by first responders.

Take Me Home is intended for individuals with:

•            Autism

•            Down Syndrome

•            Dementia or Alzheimer's Disease

•            Other developmental or cognitive challenges

How it Works

A family member or legal guardian registers loved ones with cognitive or developmental challenges who live, work, or attend school in Redmond. Registration includes a digital picture, demographic information, and caregiver contacts. This information is stored in a secure database maintained by the Redmond Police Department.

If an individual is found alone or is reported missing, law enforcement personnel can search the Take Me Home database by name, physical attributes, or unique characteristics. The person’s communication abilities, routines, behaviors, and other helpful information may also be included to assist law enforcement in their interaction with them.

Please contact the Community Engagement Unit for registration at [email protected].
