HDCP

HDCP is enforced in PS4 Retail Models by the MN86471A HDMI transmitter but the PlayStation 4 System Software 1.700.000 added an option to disable HDCP for Games on Retail Models. In Nonretail Models it can be disabled via the system menu.

HDCP Removal via Software

"This highly requested feature will allow you to have the option to turn off HDCP for games so you can capture longer gameplay sessions directly from your HDMI output and export them elsewhere."

HDCP Removal via Hardware

A way to remove HDCP coming from an HDMI cable is to plug the cable into a HDCP splitter. The splitter outputs the same signal without HDCP.
