AMD Secure Asset/Access Management Unit (SAMU) is a separate processor that handles lots of the encryption/decryption tasks on the PS4. AMD SAMU must not be mistaken with AMD System Management Unit which is a thermal and electric management unit found in modern AMD x86 processors. The equivalent of AMD SAMU on the PS5 is AMD PSP.
