Biography

Jason Morris competed at four consecutive Olympic Games in judo, winning a silver medal in 1992 in half-middleweight. Morris attended college at Syracuse University, where he was on the wrestling team and made All-American. Morris won gold medals in half-middleweight at the 1987 and 1991 Pan American Games and a silver medal in the same class in 1995. He was a bronze medalist at the 1993 World Championships. Morris was a 7th dan black belt.

After leaving the mat Morris became a judo coach, coaching the 2008 US Olympic Team, He also opened the Jason Morris Judo Center in Glenville, New York, which he runs with his wife, Teri Takemori. Once a year the center holds the Morris Cup, an international and national judo tournament. Morris also owns and writes for Real Judo magazine. He was inducted into the US Judo Hall of Fame in 2010.
