BioWare Austin is a division of BioWare, which is in turn owned by Electronic Arts. It was headed by Gordon Walton and Richard Vogel, and the opening was announced on 13 March 2006. The studio's first title is the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic. It was launched in December 2011.
It was announced in February 2011 that Gordon Walton had left the company for the social gaming studio Playdom.
