Several 60 to 80 cm large beds of manganese ore within grey and yellowish clays.
From 1842 to 1924, area claimed for manganese but never exploited, except some trenches.
This locality is actually the Type Locality for nontronite, named for Nontron, situated close to Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière.
