In the second season, some novelty has inevitably worn off, but Dexter is, if anything, more of a paradox and remains one of the most compelling characters on TV.

When it's at the top of its game, Dexter brings True Blood to mind, subverting conventions of horror and violence to mock the various accoutrements of "normal" suburban life. With stepchildren Astor (Christina Robinson) and Cody (Preston Bailey) relegated to their grandparents' house, and with an Irish maid, Sonya (Maria Doyle Kennedy), caring for Harrison, the show loses some of its charm.

The grotesqueries of "Dexter" are not something that can easily be dismissed with the old "you don't have to watch" line. We don't have to watch. We do have to live among the viewers who will be desensitized, or aroused, by this show.

It's keeping bad to worse as it goes season by season. Initially it was okay but then why the hell you show a psycho killer as a god who can't even make a single mistake. I mean seriously!!!! Dexter can tell you whole how, when and where the murder happened but no one in the whole Miami metro police department and FBI can't even find 1 mistake or clue ......I can show 100. Suddenly a show supposed to show a psycho killer turned him a **** Robinhood who does for novelty and a best **** show turned him a god. I wanted to ask how much writers were high while writing this **** which more like a 10 year old's imaginative story than a professional writer's screenplay which must has a little realistic touch. A 15 years old boy can tell you a better story with a much more sense than this. One of the worst ending I have ever seen in movie/series.

A garbage heap of a show with a psycho at its helm and a ridiculous concept that only appeals to people who like to suspend disbelief indefinitely while favoring gratuitous violence for its own sake.
