Many unregistered users abuse the translation system by just "pasting source text" everywhere. This is a measure put in place to prevent this kind of abuse, while the lack of a translation here is not a big deal because it would have been the same as the source text, which is displayed anyway. @BDavis (WMF): Most odd. @Shirayuki's fix edit didn't make the page translation system work either. Obviously this fatal needs to be fixed in Translate, but ahead of that (or if it can be "fixed" to stop us re-using older strings), I worry that we're going to have to endlessly create work for translators (or move the translation into the MediaWiki: namespace or onto TWN). :-( Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 08:47, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

Deleting the following three pages might resolve the issue, but I think it would be better to report this as a bug in Translate and have it fixed before deleting them:

• Translations:Version lifecycle/_122_/en
• Translations:Version lifecycle/_122/cs
• Translations:Version lifecycle/_122/nl

I doubt deleting the pages will fix the problem, but of course there's no way to know without a stack trace. Guessing blindly, the error has to do with displaying the mark for translation form, so using the API might work around it. * Pppery * _{it has begun} 16:07, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

July 2026 Wikimedia Café meetups regarding Wikimedia governance and options for reform

Hello! There will be two Wikimedia Café discussion opportunities in July. Both sessions will focus on Wikimedia governance, including possible follow-ups to the Movement Charter and options for reform. Participants may attend either or both Café sessions.

This month, to deconflict the Café meetups from Wikimania, the meetups will be held one day later than usual.
