Bethesda's next big game, Starfield, is coming exclusively to Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 11, 2022.

The Washington Post leaked the Starfield trailer ahead of Xbox and Bethesda Showcase and Xbox confirmed that the trailer is both real and that Starfield will be exclusive to its platforms. Starfield opened Microsoft's E3 2021 presentation.

The trailer is about 2 minutes and 20 seconds long. It begins on a nondescript, but clearly alien planet aboard a vessel called the Constellation. The narrator talks about venturing into a field of stars, and we get a look inside the interior of the Constellation which looks reminiscent of the Space Age ships from the 1960s.

Starfield was first announced at E3 2018 and was the first new Bethesda property in over 20 years, but beyond the cinematic trailer not much is known about the gameplay.

During the E3 presentation, Bethesda's Todd Howard says Starfield is about "hope" and the shared humanity we all share. Howard also indicated the cinematic trailer is in-engine.

Bethesda also confirmed separately that Starfield will be the first game created on its updated Creation Engine 2. The studio has promised major revamps to its engine for graphical fidelity and other improvements. The trailer was also made in-engine.
