The teachers association has called for taking early steps for
regularizing the educators otherwise they will be forced to stage protest rallies.
The labor chief also revealed during the briefing that the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (Ecop) has made an initial commitment of
regularizing 40 percent of the employees of its member-companies.

More companies in Central Visayas are now voluntarily
regularizing workers in support of the government's anti-contractualization campaign, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said over the weekend.
RAWALPINDI -- As many as 447 contract employees of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) have allegedly been subjected to sheer injustice by not
regularizing them from their date of appointment .
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Monday said it has already exceed its target for 2018 of
regularizing 312,000 workers in the last 11 months in its anti-contractualization drive.
Minister for Education Jam Mehtab Dahar did not inform regarding the number of employees benefitted from the legislation but said that the urban rural quota do not need to be implemented as recruitments were made in past and the legislation was only aimed at
regularizing them.
'We are
regularizing NTS pass contract teachers without any condition,' the chief minister said.
Federal cabinet had accorded approval to new policy of
regularizing temporary and contract employees in its meeting on April 14, 2017.
He said that some incomplete record cases would be processed soon for
regularizing services of remaining qualified educators.
With the said trend, the labor official said they are confident of achieving their goal of
regularizing 300,000 contractual workers before the end of the year.
The union leaders stated that federal cabinet has also accorded approval to regularize ALT staff and contract employees but no movement is seen with Railway high ups for initiating any step for
regularizing the employees.
The minister said that the government has fulfilled its responsibility by
regularizing the contract employees and now it was the responsibility of the employees to work hard.
Citing the order handed down recently by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to Jolibee Food Corp., a labor group advocating the end of job contractualization, or endo, expressed belief that President Duterte, through the DOLE, can do a much better job in
regularizing more contractual workers.
