The causation in question is just the
posteriority of a participated, contracted perfection to the same perfection simply by itself.
Firstly,
Posteriority, for which the native marker occurs quite infrequently in the corpus, gets a backup via two Spanish forms, antes (de que) 'before' and hasta (que) 'until'.
I think that this line of exegesis can be supported by a remark introduced by Hegel about the '
posteriority' of the Logic: 'the value of logic is only appreciated when it is preceded by experience of the sciences; it then displays itself to mind as the universal truth, not as a particular knowledge alongside other matters and realities, but as the essential being of all these latter' (SL 58).
The tense system of the direct speech is transferred to the past, following the three basic chronological relations of the event subordinated to the main verb: anteriority: the pluperfect replaces the present perfect, simultaneity: the imperfect replaces the present,
posteriority: the conditional replaces the future, to indicate "the future seen from the past." This transposition mechanism may experience perfectly logical breaches.
It is after all an exemplary reading of Englishness in the modern city epic fashion, He is a 'fabulist' of the identity theme, nurturing a project which is not offered up as a monadic entity, but an imagined and reified form of writing for
posteriority. At root, his is a prospective memory destined for future generations to recover and reconstruct on its strength their own negotiated version of cultural identity.
First, although the trace designates the absolute and irreversible past, it is not without a bearing on the "beyond" of the future to come: "A trace qua trace does not simply lead toward the past, but is the very passing toward a past more remote than any past and any future which still are set in my time--the past of the other, in which eternity takes form, and absolute past which unites all times." (14) In the eschatology of the trace, the anteriority and the
posteriority of the historical totality merge in "the absolute past which unites all times," except--one might add--the forever present tense of consciousness and representation.
As images of
posteriority [ruins] reveal the primordiality of the temporal law dial holds sway over their obsolescence.' This is unfortunate because Harrison has fine things to say.
relative localization of the events with respect to one another (simultaneity, anteriority,
posteriority);
All that the principle affirms is that the mere difference of priority and
posteriority in time is not a reasonable ground for having more regard to the consciousness of one moment than to that of another.
The dating of events enables us to identify a given event's anteriority or
posteriority relative to other events, such as the first contacts with an NGO and language courses taken by claimants which preceded their first jobs.
We are here at the heart of the debate opposing the visible and the readable, or the visible and the speakable, since the entire strategy of the novel consists in making the reader believe that the photograph he is being shown (as well as all the following ones) come first compared to the text which comes second, in other words, that the photograph is anterior to the text which merely serves it, whereas it is the opposite which is happening: indeed, writing alone is what gives birth to the photograph, in a temporal relation which is not one of anteriority or
posteriority, but one of simultaneity.
With the third series currently on repeats and season four due later this year, it saw Nesbitt go down in posterity - or is that
posteriority - when Adam Williams was called upon to stand naked in the street singing with a rose up his bottom, an image used for the US poster campaign to promote the series in America though, strangely, not here where he owns up to ITV having used a 'butt double'.
