intervention to increase the sense of school belonging, we just might be able to increase levels of achievement!
Unfortunately, the nature of police work limits the options and time available to officers to effect successful
intervention strategies when dealing with violent and combative individuals.

But perhaps it's time to remind ourselves that one of the many reasons staffings are so important is because they often function as a formal
intervention. I often attend, as a marketer, a daily one-hour staffing held at a 56-bed residential facility for people with alcohol and other drug addictions.
For the basic
intervention, a clinician spent 5-10 minutes with each woman, explaining the importance of using condoms and microbicides to prevent STDs; the women were given free supplies of the methods and two brochures on how to use them.
The preferred method for short time series is segmented time series regression analysis, which is a statistical comparison of time trends before and after the
intervention to identify either an immediate change in the level of the regression line or a sustained change in the slope of the line (12,13).
The researchers found that adolescents in the sexual health
intervention group reported a higher mean frequency score for PAC about sex than those in the control group (2.32 versus 1.79) four months after the
intervention; similar results were seen for adolescents in the alcohol prevention
