Flipping this fairly mundane urban reflection makes it a more edgy and interesting composition.

Enjoy your day and thanks for dropping by.

This is the second in an ongoing series shot from a storm water outlet on the beach at Marine Parade, Napier

This shot features a clear horizon with the nearly new moon rising with Venus above and to it's left. Mars and Jupiter are also faintly visible below the moon.

We ended our day trip to the Lakes at Wast Water. We had hoped for a more colourful sunset but that was partly obscured by cloud on the horizon. Still we did manage to pick up some colour and here it is on the flanks of the lake.

a quintessential Venetian veduta: gondolas with the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore in the background

(the title is a verse from the poem "In a Gondola" by Arthur Hugh Clough)

San Giorgio Maggiore is a 16th-century Benedictine church on the island of the same name in Venice, Italy, designed by Andrea Palladio, and built between 1566 and 1610. The church is a basilica in the classical renaissance style and its brilliant white marble gleams above the blue water of the lagoon opposite the Piazzetta and forms the focal point of the view from every part of the Riva degli Schiavoni.

As a child I can recall spending many summers visiting my cousin's place along the Magothy River south of Baltimore. Because of extremely strict building codes the entire area today is much as it was 70 years ago. Chocolate Hole is a quiet place to unwind from the stress of todays world.

I spent the day on a photo hike in the Bankhead Forest with my friend, Wes (BamaWester). I will be posting a series of images from our hike. Thank you, Wes, for showing me this amazing place. Wes's stream: www.flickr.com/photos/bamawester/

I was driving to work this morning, enjoying the sunrise, when I noticed the mists hanging on the farms off the interstate. I took the exit as fast as I could and found this little spot just in time! Must be seen large on black.
