Happy Fence Friday!

These cooties (baby coots) were out with their parent in Alberta, Canada

The American coot, also known as a mud hen or pouldeau, is a bird of the family Rallidae. Though commonly mistaken for ducks, American coots are only distantly related to ducks, belonging to a separate order. Unlike the webbed feet of ducks, coots have broad, lobed scales on their lower legs and toes that fold back with each step which facilitates walking on dry land- wiki

Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) juvenile male female

Another from the Tawny Family portrait session last week.

A white stork nest in the wildlife park Eekholt. These storks are no more able to fly away because of injuries in the past. They found their home in the wildlife park after being rescued and are visited every summer by their old partners who never forgot them and return every spring. They build their nests on the ground now and raise their chicks. It is always again so touching to watch them.

The easiest and laziest way to take a family photo is like this XD

This grouping of "Hare's Foot Inkcap Mushrooms" reminds me of a family.

The Hare's Foot Inkcap ( Coprinopsis lagopus) can be seen in small groups on soil or leaf litter in woodlands and in rarer occasions out in field scenarios as early as May and right through to the late autumn months. They are common in most parts of Britain and Ireland and throughout mainland Europe. It is also found in many other parts of the world including much of Asia and North America.

It got it's common english name from the way the young furry-like fruiting body is reminiscent of a hare's foot-abiet poking up from the ground.

Hare's Foot Incaps grow up to 12-13 cm.

The family that Trick or Treats together, stays together!

You can see Master DeaD's awesome shot here!

Not sure what this mushroom is, but it is now at the life-giving end of its short-lived cycle, when the gill open to release it's spores for the next crop of mushrooms. 7-image, handheld stack.

"In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony."...

There's nothing quite as sweet as spending extended time with one's family members. My mind is filled with memories of a beach trip featuring sweet pastries in the morning, hiking down trails to stunning beaches, and ending the day singing together. Here's to love, laughter, and caring for the people that fill your heart.
