Nirvana - Nevermind

Based on the description notes of this pressing plus some comments from other folks in here, decided to gamble and buy a sealed Nevermind pressing in 2025 with a loose-fitting shrink. Yep, it was this one with ORG plates XXXXXXed out! I do not own... See full review

This shootout might be useful for some in making a decision. The two sound a bit different in my system, but this is still a damn good comparison. https://youtu.be/y_SAfcAGzzs?si=dr9vfevPpr4xUyCy

Gillian Welch - Soul Journey

Yep, it should be Paramount, new plant at one point related to VMP. But no longer. Very few LPs pressed in it yet, so no idea where it falls on the quality scale. This is one of those quiet, relaxing LPs where a silent pressing is a must
Waylon Jennings - The Story Of Waylon Jennings
posted a review of Waylon Jennings - The Story Of Waylon Jennings. about 1 year ago
These sound amazing. I do have a clean original of dreaming my dreams (literally bought it sealed in 2023) and I prefer it slightly. But I really think it's a preference more than it's better. Waylon's voice on the original is just a bit more present.... See full review

agree with TotR, this is not a US$40 record, more like a $48.. i love how ppl like to compare apples to oranges.. when you think about it, you can get new AP and Mofi 33rpm records with free shipping for US$40 (US$60 = 45rpm), so Rhino is actually the... See full review

This sounds pretty awesome: good dynamic range, balanced and full sound. The album is also a pleasure to listen to. This Monarch pressing also has LH on the matrix. I got lucky and bought a sealed copy, which I opened today. No pressing defects. I... See full review

agree with nkoscak down below, great dynamics, full sound, perhaps a bit less definition on the upper end, but definitely RHCP's second best album sonically after stadium arcadium. I recommend this purchase (stay away from by the way for example)

Anyone knows if there's a digital step in here. I know it's remastered from the og masters but there's no indication it's AAA like some other AP releases. Concur with reviews in here, it sounds phenomenal.

fantastic pressing, probably one of my best-sounding LPs. The rawness of this recording and pressing is just off the charts; you feel like you're at the concert. I own no other pressings but always compare my LPs to Spotify, and this one is way, way... See full review

Don't own another copy. Relative to Spotify, the LP is more dynamic, nice soundstage and it does have slightly more punch. The vocals sound clearer too, nice warm tone. However, there is significant more tape hiss than the digital version, which is... See full review

Don't own another copy, but this one is stellar. Did my usual comparison vs Spotify; this one is significantly better in terms of detail, depth and punch. Lucky for me, the jacket arrived in pristine condition. Pressing is also flawless, not a single... See full review

Sounds pretty good, especially given its digital source. I don't own the AP version of this album to compare it to, but I do have the self-titled and Morrison Hotel from AP, and those have that live feeling to it, beefy analogue sound, which this one... See full review

QC is an issue, especially at this price point. I actually had to request a replacement. But once I did, all was good. The LP sounds fantastic, bright, detailed, and has great dynamics. And you get the added benefit of longer play with 33-1/3 rpm. I... See full review

Just phenomenal. One of my best-sounding LPs, not only because of MSFL, but also due to Alan Parson's exceptional production calibre. DSD step is a shame if you're looking for that scarcity. But if you're searching for sound, this one is it.

sounds great, quiet good dynamic range. bought the box set and it came with this exact version based on matrix / runout (i.e., does not match any of the box set versions up on discogs). unfortunately the vol 2 does not come in as great of a quality.
