Quincy Jones - $ (Music From The Original Motion Picture Sound Track)

I think it´s a counterfeit, the quality of the pressing isn´t very fine. And "Reprise Records" isn´t mentioned on the labels.

This "Club-Selektion" EP is from 1977, 33 1/3 r.p.m. There are a few other Polydor-EPs in this format.

This record in from 1972, not from 1977. It´s still released by Kinney Music. From 1973 on Atlantic was distributed by WEA. And there´s no label code and there´s the old label design.

I still believe that this song was recorded by The Smoke.

Die Katalognummer ist etwas rätselhaft, da sie von der damals üblichen siebenstelligen Phonogram-Zählung abweicht. Ich kenne keine andere deutsche Island-LP der Jahre 1969/70, die solch eine Nummer hat.

Great compilation and an early use of the words "New Wave" (instead of "Punk").

Great soundtrack for an unseen movie. Perhaps the best New Wave sampler ever. The compilation "New Wave" (Philips 6300 278, 1977) is also a must!

The single "Pretty Maid" ist a song by another Jack White, namely Horst Nußbaum. The song was a smash hit in West-Germany, with german lyrics ("Schöne Maid"), performed by Tony Marshall aka Herman Anton Bloeth. I always hated that kind of music.

I find this record somewhat curious. On the label it says "Made In Germany", which usually meant West Germany. But the stated rights collecting society AWA was located in the German Democratic Republic. Perhaps this record was made for export to the... See full review

I don´t think that this is an official release, using the EMI-Electrola Odeon labels of ca. 1972.

Right: Untouchable, especially in 1996/1997. Not followed by anything equal in terms of innovation.

I agree, many tracks are written by Syd. But the sleeve shows Gilmour instead of him. 70% of these tracks were formerly released on singles.
In 1970 it was the easiest way to purchase tracks like "Candy And A Current Bun".

On my copy "I'm Confused' is credited to The New Yardbirds, which is wrong. It's the Jake Holmes track from his 1967 album on Tower Records. A Yardbirds live version was released in 1971 (Live Yardbirds feat. Jimmy Page - Anderson Theatre, Epic).
