The English rock band The Beatles existed from 1962 to 1970 and has recorded 12 studio albums.
Yellow Submarine is the tenth studio album by the British rock group The Beatles, released on January 17, 1969 in Britain, including the compilation album, it was their eleventh album. In Germany the album was released on January 21, 1969, here it was their 14th album including the compilation albums. It was released in the US on January 13, 1969, where it was their 17th album. It contains the film music for the cartoon of the same name, which was released in July 1968. At the same time, Yellow Submarine is also a George Martin album, since the second side of the album contains exclusively orchestrated film music by George Martin.

Also, there are some copies that have stereo labels on the vinyl but the matrices are mono XEX 715-1 and XEX 716-2. I don't know if all these mispressed copies were sold separately or only in the red (UK) or black (US export) boxes.- I have this copy with the exact Matrix/Runout as listed. That said, my copy is a LAMINATED front cover.
- The pressing is excellent, the record is almost flat, plays cleanly, without distortion (washed out). The sound is perfect. The covers are high quality and nice.
I like all Beatles albums without exception...

Lovely quality sound, worst possible stereo mix I could imagine.- Edited 4 months agoFor the least celebrated and remembered LP in their releases, it's worth it for the original versions of the Harrison songs alone. This is a decent sounding bass heavy pressing which is a nice contrast to the bass-light pressings of much of their catalogue. It lacks top end sparkle but is not overly compressed which gives the LP more of a dynamic range.
Worth it for the two Harrison songs, "Only A Northern Song" and "It's All Too Much". "Hey Bulldog" ain't too shabby either, with a killer riff, spirited vocals, and a palpable sense of fun in the grooves. My copy is a 1971 Winchester pressing, it sounds pleasingly vivid, with plenty of oomph and ample low end. The vinyl plays clean and quiet, with a smidgen of faint surface noise in the lead-in grooves on side one. I've played side two once, I'm not sure how many others have had this record in their collection before me, but it doesn't sound like any of them played it more than once either...
