Sonopresse was a 50/50 joint venture between the publishing / distributing company Hachette and Gérard Tournier. On July 6th 1976, Sonopresse S.A. (the legal entity behind the Sonopresse imprint) was wholly acquired by Pathé Marconi EMI S.A.
Sonopresse S.A. ceased operations in 1979.
