Reading Dragons and Friends Summer Reading Program

Starting Saturday, May 30 at Sitka Public Library, kids aged 6 to 9 years-old can participate in the summer Reading Dragons and Friends program. This is a collectable card game that rewards kids for reading!

Free Summer Breakfast at the Library

Sitka Public Library's free grab-n-go Summer Breakfast program will run every Wednesday through the summer starting June 3 and ending July 29, from 10:00 until bags are gone. Youth are welcome to pick up a free bagged snack at the library’s ocean side window. 20 bags are available first come, first served.

Summer dinosaurs for adoption at Sitka Public Library

Children 5-9 are invited to “Unearth a Story” and bring home a prehistoric friend adopting their very own small stuffed dinosaur at Sitka Public Library. Participants will be required to sign a certificate promising to read to their friend all summer long.

Road Closure on Lincoln Street for Porch Fest 2026

The City and Borough of Sitka will close a portion of Lincoln Street to vehicle traffic on Saturday, June 6, 2026, for the Porch Fest 2026 event hosted by the Greater Sitka Arts Council. The closure will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
