Goldcrest launches Earth One Amazing Day for Cannes: A feature film from BBC Earth Films and SMG Pictures
Pascal Degove Managing Director Goldcrest Films (Goldcrest) has signed a deal with BBC Worldwide to sell the worldwide rights (excluding China / Germany / HK / Japan / South Korea / Taiwan / UK) to BBC Earth Films and SMG Pictures forthcoming feature film Earth: One Amazing Day, a sequel to Earth, the 2007 box office hit that was released by Disney in the US and grossed over $110m worldwide.

Inviting you to spend 24 hours on the most amazing Planet in the known universe, Earth: One Amazing Day is directed by Peter Webber (Academy Award nominee The Girl with the Pearl Earing) and Richard Dale (BAFTA and Peabody nominee The Human Body). A co-production between BBC Earth Films (as Earth Film Productions Limited) and SMG Pictures it is the first feature film to be produced under the UK and China film co-production treaty.
Goldcrest will launch the film to distributors at the forthcoming Cannes Marche. Production is underway and the producers have already concluded deals in Germany and China.

Earth One Amazing Day is produced by Stephen McDonogh (Walking with Dinosaurs, Enchanted Kingdom 3D). Neil Nightingale (Walking with Dinosaurs, Enchanted Kingdom 3D) is Executive Producer and Myles Connolly (Enchanted Kingdom 3D, Flight of the Butterflies, Samsara) will serve as Supervising Producer.
