GC Ed Accelerator Program

Location: Garbe Iron Works, Aurora, Ill.
Date and time: Wednesday, April 15, 2026, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Central

The GC Ed Accelerator Program is an intensive, practice-focused training designed specifically for general contractors working with structural steel on building projects. This five-hour program equips participants with the essential knowledge and tools to plan, coordinate, and manage steel scopes effectively--from early design coordination through fabrication, delivery, and erection.

Developed in alignment with AISC’s Code of Standard Practice (CoSP), the course demystifies common challenges facing GCs and provides practical strategies that improve project scheduling, cost management, communication with fabricators/erectors, and overall steel workflow efficiency. Attendees gain a deeper understanding of steel’s unique sequencing requirements, roles and responsibilities across the supply chain, and best practices to reduce risk and avoid costly rework.
