The defensive lineman from Ohio State University has been named an Academic All Big Ten Conference four years in a row. While starting on the football field, Penton has found time to become a very popular public speaker for youth in Ohio, having been asked to speak over 100 times during his college years.
Penton is also very active in FCA, Athletes in Action and Campus Crusade for Christ, volunteering time to local high school chapters. Penton planned and launched the “Main Event” outreach meeting. He gained commitments from 300 students to volunteer for the event along with members of the OSU Marching Band and Cheerleading Squad. The event drew over 13,000 people.
Penton has volunteered as a camp leader at FCA Golf Camps and the World Harvest Football Camp. Penton also served on a mission to east Asia during his collegiate years.
