Weird Woods is the final stage (second extra stage) of Grass Land in Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. To unlock it, Kirby must get the Firecracker Patch by completing the Mole Hole level. This level is based on the Saucer transformation which the player must use to defeat two Wicked Willows. As Kirby traverses the dark forest, he is met with Yarn Waddle Dees, Bronto Burts, Shotzos mounted on ceilings and the occasional rotating wheel of spikes.

Patch animation[edit]

After throwing the Firecracker Patch, nothing happens for a short moment, then the firecracker goes off, waking a sleeping owl and causing it to fly off, unfurling the drape it was perched on in the process. This drape bears a tree and a night sky on it, which bears stars once unfurled, and opens the door.

Overview[edit]

The level begins with Kirby jumping into a Metamortex and transforming into Saucer form. From there, the stage begins to scroll automatically to the right, so Kirby needs to keep up. Along the way, enemies such as Yarn Waddle Dees and Bronto Burts continually fill up the path, allowing Kirby to clear them out using his Saucer abilities. Shotzos also occupy the path, and though they cannot be harmed, their shots can be destroyed. The path twists and turns across several hazardous obstacles, but treasures can be found by the bold Kirby Saucer as well. In the middle of the path, Kirby will have to contend with a Wicked Willow, which can only be defeated using the Saucer's Thunder Spark ability. From there, the path continues past a much more perilous line of hazards, including winds blowing down into spike pits. At the end of the level, one more Wicked Willow must be defeated in order to clear the way to the Bonus Bell at the end.

Treasures[edit]

Item Description How to obtain

Telescope
This telescope is perfect for stargazing on a clear night. During a section where the player heads down past rotating spikes, this Treasure is located at the bottom in the left corner.

Log Cake
This log cake looks like it has a cream center that probably tastes better than wood! Immediately after the section where the player finds the Telescope Treasure, this Treasure is encased by Cloth Blocks that must be destroyed by the Saucer's Thunder Spark ability.

Weird Woods
This new music plays in Weird Woods. After a section containing patrolling Spear Waddle Dees and Bronto Burts, this Treasure is blocked behind some Cloth Blocks that must be destroyed by the Saucer's Thunder Spark ability. Otherwise, the player can go around the other side and collect it before it scrolls off the screen.
