
Mental Health First Aid Training
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20 OR SATURDAY, APRIL 12
Do you know what to do if you encounter someone in a mental health crisis? Bethany Donohue, Zero Suicide Coordinator at Integrated Services of Kalamazoo, will be conducting a day-long Mental Health First Aid training event on Thursday, February 20 and again on Saturday, April 12, at Portage Chapel Hill. This is a free training for anyone 18+. The event runs from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, and lunch is provided. Please register below and be sure to share this opportunity with others in your community!

Advocacy Day
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12
The 2025 Advocacy Day at the Michigan State Capitol will be held on Wednesday, March 12. This year’s theme is the crisis in care resulting from the 2019 auto no-fault insurance changes in Michigan. Activities include meetings with legislators, letter writing, poster making for the press conference, prayer in the Capitol rotunda, and prayer and worship in the sanctuary at Central UMC, across the street from the Capitol.

Upcoming Dates for Lent & Easter
- Wednesday, March 5
Ash Wednesday – The pastors will distribute ashes from Noon – 1 pm at the main church entrance; Ash Wednesday Worship service at 7 pm. - Sunday, April 13
Palm Sunday – We will celebrate Palm Sunday with a variety of music at both the 9 am and 11 am worship services. - Thursday, April 17
Maundy Thursday – At 6:30 pm, come and share a meal together, just as Jesus and his Disciples did. - Friday, April 18
Good Friday – Tenebrae service at 7 pm. - Sunday, April 20
Easter Sunday – Worship services at 9 am and 11 am.
