Ring Out Danger, Friday, Nov 7th @9:30am
Ring Out Danger: People of Faith Opposed to Gun Violence — Please join us Friday, November 7th, at 9:30 a.m., in front of Bethany. We will be part of Ring Out Danger: People of Faith Opposed to Gun Violence (https://ringoutdanger.org). We will ring some of our beautiful handbells. No ringing experience is required! We start tolling the bells at 9:35 a.m., which was the time that the Columbine High School massacre took place in 1999. We will ring bells the first Friday of every month at 9:30 am.
Labyrinth Walk – Friday, December 5th @7pm
Join us for a service of music and movement. Each first Friday of the even numbered months will be an evening of chants and contemplative music inspired by the world’s spiritual traditions. You are invited to explore the deeply centering tradition of walking the labyrinth, a journey inward and then back out. The service is very casual and is designed to be whatever you make of it. We will play music for about an hour and during that time you can sit and listen, sing along, walk the labyrinth, dance the labyrinth, or do whatever it is that you need in the moment.
The upcoming service is in the Bethany United Methodist Church sanctuary at 7pm, on Dec 5.
A Place to Belong
Bethany’s congregation is deeply rooted in the awareness of God’s abundant and endless grace for all. We are thoughtful about our faith, and we strive to be followers of Jesus. We seek to understand and more deeply commit ourselves to the love of God, the love of neighbor and the love of self. We are reconciling United Methodists who understand God’s redeeming love and grace for all, and we invite you to learn more.
Sunday Service, In-Person & Online
Join us in person or on Facebook at 10:45am.
Worship bulletin for October 12, 2025
We are a casual, open, reconciling congregation. Everyone is truly welcome to come just as they are; no dress code, no pretenses. Worship consists of singing, an open prayer time where congregants can name out loud their joys and concerns, a 12-15 minute sermon by the pastor, special music by our choir, offering, and communion on the first Sunday of the month.
After worship you’re invited to join us for fellowship. If you’re joining online, it happens over zoom. If in person, you’re welcome to join us for food and conversation in the sanctuary directly following worship.

How to Get Here
Bethany is located at the corner of Sanchez and Clipper. We are accessible via public transit. The J muni line drops you off at Church and Clipper, one block from Bethany. The nearest BART station is 24th and Mission about .7 miles from the church, and the 24 or 35 or 48 bus lines are close and within easy walking distance.
If you’re driving to Bethany, you’ll want to allow for a few extra minutes to find street parking. We do have two spots in front of our church reserved for those with mobility or other accessibility concerns.
