Soup and Study: Bible Study –  Women who prepared the way

Monday evenings, 6:00 – 7:00 pm: October 6, 13, 20, 27

You are invited to enter into conversations with Lydia, Ruth and Naomi, the woman at the well, and five sisters who stood strong together to change an unjust law. Pastor Julie and Lisa Weaver are looking forward to delving into the lives and thoughts of these Biblical women, pondering how they speak to us today. 

A bowl of delicious soup awaits you, along with storytelling, poetry, and discussion. 

Bible passages align with the worship services in October, and will draw from The Book of Belonging by Mariko Clark (2024) and Drawing Near: A Devotional Journey with Art, Poetry & Reflection (Herald Press, 2025). Scan the QR code for registration, or email Pastor Julie.

Sunday

WORSHIP  (10:00 am) — Worship is provided via YouTube Live for those who are unable to attend in person.

Children’s Sunday School (10:15-11:00 am, in person) — For children from preschool through 5th grade.  Children begin in worship with their families and are dismissed from the sanctuary at the designated point in the bulletin.

Monday

UWF Lydia Fellowship (1:00 pm, 2nd Monday in person) — The Lydia Fellowship meets the 2nd Monday of the month to work on projects such as knit caps, baptism blankets and prayer shawls or knit caps, neck warmers, leg warmers, etc. for The Playing Field kids.

UWF Book Browsers (1:00 pm, 3rd Monday via Zoom)

Reflections Book Group (1:00 pm, 4th Monday in person) — Meets monthly to discuss a book chosen by the group.  Book selections are announced in the monthly Banner newsletter.

Tuesday

UWF Susanna Circle (1:00 pm, 1st Wednesday in person, September through May)

UWF Agape (1:30 pm, 4th Wednesday) — The women of Bethany are invited to the monthly gathering of Agape.
