Hi. I created a PNP search for a site, and it looks into other sites. I have 2 questions: Can the file be force to open on desktop app? at the moment when i click on the file, it opens on the browser. (i did change the settings on the site so that files will always open on desktop app, but so far it only works when opening a file from the folder not from the search) 2. On the search results (above) i have a link to the file location, it works, it takes me to the folder the file is in, and it goes to all the right sites, but it opens on the same page where the search is. Is it possible to force it to open on a different tab? Thank you!66Views0likes1CommentSlow OneDrive uploadspeed!
For a few years i used an university MS-account with 2TB OneDrive storage. Now these cooperation runs out and i made my own MS account with those 1TB OneDrive storage. I have like ~500GB of data in that old OneDrive and right now try to copy everything to my new personal one... But the uploadspeed is horrible! Referring to speedtests I have like 50Mbit/s (Ethernet so quite stable) so ~ like 6.25MB/s upload. The maximum onedrive reaches is like 1.5MB/s.... and in average i get like 750kB/s... My PC is already running for 2 days... Do you have any idea to solve this problem or is this just something i have to accept? Is it possible that institutions like universities have better uploadspeeds, or are just prioritized and so on? Thanks in advance! BR17Views0likes2CommentsSearching on SharePoint via Tags
Hi All, I have recently set up some tags through the term store and have started to apply them to documents within my SharePoint Document Library. When searching for them, I have been using the filter, selecting "Tags" and then listing all the tags I'm looking for. The issue is, it returns any document that contains any of the tags I list when I want it to only list documents that have all of those tags attached. I did some research and it seems as though it isn't something you can amend, so the work around was to set up a custom search page and add a filter that allows the user to click what tags they want to search for. I added a custom PnP Modern Search Web Part which I think may give me what I need but when I add it I get the below error message? Any ideas?19Views0likes3CommentsDocument Library Web Part Not Displaying All Files in a Folder
Suddenly within the last few days (with no changes), document library web parts throughout multiple site collections on our company Intranet are not showing all the files in folders. I've tried going on the pages and editing the web parts to view as small, medium, large, and auto and none of them rectify the problem. Opened a ticket with MS and they always come back with no issues and we don't pay for support anymore. Anyone else experiencing this? I have no filters or rules set on the document libraries. This has happened to us before and "fixed itself". Below is an example of a document library web part that stops at P, but the folder clearly goes all the way down to W: Web Part: Actual Folder:3Views0likes0CommentsMaking a excel file into a html file that everyone can view in teams?
Hello, So what im trying to do is create a HTML file that links to a site on our shared network thats based on a xml file. The plan is for people to be able to click on the html and see the page with the relevant data from the xml file. I have the excel file on my onedrive, we have a group in teams with files. What i tried to do is the simple way first. I saved my file "start.xml" as a web page so it became "start.html". The file works for me and the path is my onedrive. Now when i put it into the files and upload it into our teams folders, it just says 404 not found. I figure thats because its calling for my path thats on my computer and not inside the teamchat folder itself. So my question is, is it possible to have the excel file inside the teams chat, save it as a html. So when we click on the html it shows on the team chats "inside browser" and when i update the excel the html updates as well. I cant seem to find what file path i would need for it to work. I'm perfectly fine with this being inside of the teams chat and calling the file path from the teams chat. Any ideas or help or is it just not possible? We arent looking for any apps or something of the sort, just wondering if this works flatout inside of teams. Thanks for help.534Views0likes1CommentTotal file size in SharePoint vs Version size
Hello, I was looking for answers regarding my findings. I analyzed our SPO tenant because we are running out of storage. During the analysis, I discovered that our video files show different sizes in '/_layouts/15/storman.aspx' under the Total Size column compared to when I open specific versions of the files. In SharePoint, the Total Size column is almost double the size of the version size. How is that possible? I searched for an explanation but couldn't find one. Based on discussions, it seems that different resolutions and thumbnails are stored in a hidden folder. Is that correct? Is it possible to locate these hidden folders? Thank you Mirek14Views0likes0CommentsImported DOTX template creates error when opening document in app
Hi all, Just created a new library for testing a few things with documents. I imported a fully working sample template (it works on a local disk and network share) to my SharePoint library: When clicking it, it successfully creates a Word document that opens in the Word desktop app, but it's then showing this: Translation: "Word was unable to read this document. It may be corrupted. Try one the following operations: - Open and repair the file - Open the file with the Text Recovery Converter" If I then close it and right click -> Open in browser, it get this popup (first time opening the DOCX): I can then edit my template. Furthermore, if I click on "Edit" ("Modification" here) -> Open in app, it get the same error message as above. This problem is occuring with every template I upload (they are all created with Word M365 version if you're wondering). I want my users to be able to edit a template-generated document from the app, like any other doc. What is going on here? Thanks in advance for your help!520Views1like7CommentsSharePoint Online Duplicate Checker
Hi everyone, I am working on a project where we are finding a manually finding a significant number of duplicate records in SharePoint. That said there is almost 7TB of data and doing this manually is not really realistic. Is there a more effective method or Microsoft recommended Deduplication tool out there that can simplify this process? I know PowerShell is an option but looking for something more user friendly for non-technical users as they will be the ones that need to verify and approve the deletion of the records during the dedup process. Appreciate any guidance you can provide.30Views0likes1CommentOne Drive processing over 75K changes (Macintosh)...
This morning I noticed my One Drive folder in my DocK start to "jump" every 10 seconds or so. I investigated and the One Drive app was processing over 75K changes. I have not touched any file on my One Drive in a few weeks. I upgraded to the latest Mac OS Sequoia Beta about 1 week ago (not the one that just came out yesterday). This is odd behavior, IMHO. It doesn't look like there are any changes to the files, or changes to the update dates. I believe if MS or Apple changed something in the meta data of a file, that that changes might cause this behavior. Or if you "reset" OneDrive. In either case it is processing changes that are really not changes to the files, correct? I also read that MS is adding (unwanted in my opinion) AI features to 365. Could that be causing some behind the scene changes? Weird. Bryan28Views0likes1Comment
