Finding player OppFG% Finding player OppFG%

Hello. I am an IB student, and I am writing a math project in which I use defensive statistics to find the greatest NBA defender of all time. Therefore, I need to be able to see individual player OppFG% and compare it to the average OppFG% of the top 5 players in the league in that season (I can explain the formula later if anyone wants), but I can't seem to find player OppFG%, only team averages. As well, I need the statistics from 1982 to 2024. Does anybody know where I could find these statistics?

TLDR: need help finding player oppFG% from various seasons

Basketball Reference now has the "unofficial" MVPs dating back to 1949-50 with the addition of the Sam Davis Memorial Award winners Basketball Reference now has the "unofficial" MVPs dating back to 1949-50 with the addition of the Sam Davis Memorial Award winners

We are happy to announce that we have added some more awards to Basketball Reference, allowing us to more fully flesh out our coverage of historical MVP and ROY awards. The most important and notable addition in this group is the Sam Davis Memorial Award, which was awarded by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association to the MVP each season from 1949-50 (the first NBA season after the merger of the BAA and NBL) through 1974-75. The NBA would merge with the ABA after the 1975-76 season, so this is a nearly full accounting of 'unofficial' MVPs from the original incarnation of the NBA.

Mahomes not given 4QC and GWD in Week 13 Mahomes not given 4QC and GWD in Week 13

According to this link, Mahomes was not credited with a 4QC and GWD in the Week 13 Chiefs vs Raiders game yesterday: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/comeback.cgi?player=MahoPa00

According to Mahomes’ 2024 game log, the Raiders game was already processed and added to his stats so not sure why the 4QC/GWD was not:

The Raiders went up 17-16 in the 4th quarter. Mahomes and the Chiefs offense then mounted a drive that ended with a go ahead field goal to make it 19-17 Chiefs. The game ended 19-17 Chiefs. Thus, based on this PFR description of what counts as a 4QC/GWD, this ought to count for both.

Baseball Reference Running Slow? Baseball Reference Running Slow?

Hey - Baseball Reference has been running really slow for me. I'm running it on Google Chrome. I cleared out it's cookies/cache. It's also causing my 2019 Macbook Pro to run REALLY hot as well. My Macbook Pro has 16 GB Memory & 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 Processor.

One last note - I also have FanGraphs in another tab open - and that is also running really slow.

Two questions: 1. What is causing my computer to run hot and go so slow. 2. Would upgrading to Ad-Free be the solution? I'm working on a project and the page running slow is making it a painful experience lol.

College Basketball Reference now has statistics back to 1981-82, the first season of NCAA-sanctioned women’s basketball College Basketball Reference now has statistics back to 1981-82, the first season of NCAA-sanctioned women’s basketball

We are thrilled to announce that we have released a huge update to the women's college basketball statistics appearing on College Basketball Reference. With this update, we now have player, team and opponent statistics going all the way back to 1981-82, which was the first season of NCAA-sanctioned women's basketball. This exciting update now gives us statistics for legends such as Cheryl MillerAnne DonovanYolanda LaneyTeresa EdwardsKatrina McClainWanda FordCynthia Cooper and Doris Burke.

The last major update to the site, back in February, featured expanded player and team statistics back to 1987-88. This update tacks an additional six seasons of statistics for players and teams, while also adding over 20 seasons of new opponent statistics. It includes coverage of games played, points, rebounds, assists, field goals made and attempted, and free throws made and attempted. Additionally, it includes biographical data such as height, class and position.

This update does not include minutes played, games started, personal fouls, turnovers, offensive/defensive rebounds, blocks or steals. NCAA women's basketball did not officially track blocks or steals before 1987-88, but we have a lot of this data directly from schools that we hope to add in the future. Similarly, assists were not officially tracked in NCAA women's basketball before 1985-86, but we hope to add more of this data, directly from the schools, in the future. In fact, our assists coverage is already comprehensive back to 1984-85, one season before the NCAA considers it official. 1987-88 was the first season in which all NCAA women's basketball games had a 3-point shot. Most team scoring sheets from before 1987-88 inconsistently handled how experimental 3-pt shots were handled, but we have done our best to include all of the made 3-pointers we were able to tease out.

Our work here is far from done. Please keep your eyes peeled for future updates with things like expanded school schedules/results, all-time NCAA Tournament box scores, women's NCAA Tournament buzzer-beaters, and hopefully one day even AIAW-era statistics.

To get a full breakdown of this data addition, you can read our blog post here.

Stathead How do I add "Game Info" to Team Game Stats Finder query results? Stathead How do I add "Game Info" to Team Game Stats Finder query results?

I'm newer to pro-football reference and Stathead so I apologize if this has an obvious answer but I am wondering how to add game info to the query results table next to statistical filters. For example, I'm looking at every game played between 2021 and 2023 and their Vegas stats (spread, vs line, o/u, o/u results) but would on the same table like be able to look at each games surface type (grass or turf) and if the game was vs a divisional opponent. When I apply these "game filters" the results don't net a new column but instead filters the result and gives me games played only on grass or only on turf instead of all games and a column marking which surface type the game was played on. If anyone knows how to add such a column that would be very helpful and would save me a lot of time, thank you!
