player HRs by franchise player HRs by franchise

watching an old JM Baseball youtube draft video where they draft teams of a players HRs with a single franchise, and the franchise can’t be repeated. Entertaining video, but i wanted to do some research and see some of the players that i had in mind that might’ve been missed

I can’t find a way to get the leaderboards split by franchise on stathead, but it seems like i may just be missing something

for example, instead of seeing “Barry Bonds; 762; PIT,SFG” I want to see “Barry Bonds; 586; SFG; Barry Bonds; 176; PIT”

How would i query this on stathead? i cant find a way to split the stat by franchise.

We have found the missing Elgin Baylor triple-double! We have found the missing Elgin Baylor triple-double!

We know that Elgin Baylor had 26 triple-doubles in his regular-season NBA career. However, for many years we have only known the particulars around 25 of the 26. We knew we were missing details on one in the 1962-63 season, but we weren't certain which one. We are happy to announce that we have discovered that this 'missing' triple-double occurred on March 1, 1963. Baylor finished the game with 33 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.

With the addition of this data, we now have the details on 3,450 of the 3,475 known triple-doubles in NBA history. Of the 25 triple-doubles we are missing details on, 14 of them belong to Bob Cousy. We know Cousy had 33 triple-doubles, but we have details on just 19 of them.

Head here for an image of the official scorer's report!

Stathead for College Football has finally arrived! Stathead for College Football has finally arrived!

Stathead CFB is finally here, and it allows you to search the College Football Reference database like never before. Its data goes back to 1956 for all the major offensive stats. For defense, it covers everything back to 2005 — except interceptions, which is covered back to 1976.

With that, you can find interesting stats like the following:

  • Dillon Gabriel is 1 of 6 players with 4 seasons of 3,000+ passing yards — he can become the first player ever with 5 (Source)

  • Bryce Cosby out of Ball Stat is the only player in our database with multiple interceptions in 5 different seasons (Source)

  • USC has the most Heisman Trophy winners in College Football history (Source)

Pregame NFL information Pregame NFL information

For historical NFL games there are tables with the game info (roof, surface, temp, wind, etc.) and the officials. I understand some of the data shown can’t be filled until after the completion of the game, but I’m wondering if data, such as the officials, are displayed as a preview before the game.

Ideally, I would like to see if the roof, surface, temp, and wind along with the links of the officials names are shown ahead of time. If not (which I assume is the case), is there anywhere the officials, stadium conditions, and/or weather are announced pre-game?

Thanks for any help you guys can give!

[Baseball Reference] Remembering the Black Barons, Willie Mays, and more in honor of MLB at Rickwood Field [Baseball Reference] Remembering the Black Barons, Willie Mays, and more in honor of MLB at Rickwood Field

In celebration of MLB at Rickwood Field, we at Baseball Reference are excited to revisit the significant efforts we have made over the years in incorporating Negro Leagues data into our website. In June of 2021, Baseball Reference launched "The Negro Leagues are Major Leagues," a monumental project that dramatically expanded our site’s coverage of the Negro Leagues and historical Black major league players.

On Thursday, the Giants and Cardinals will be playing at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama. It is the former home of the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro League, who played there from 1924-1960. Willie Mays began his professional career with the Black Barons in 1948, before moving to the New York Giants in 1951. Here are some fun facts about the Black Barons!

First Major League Baseball game at Rickwood Field

April 28, 1924. The Black Barons scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning to beat the Cuban Stars, 6-3.
