Students
Am I eligible to apply to the program?
You must be a verified student on Global Campus. You must be a resident of a country not embargoed by the US and have eligibility to work in the country of residence for the duration of the program.
Are there any age restrictions to participate?
Yes, you must be at least 18 years old to participate.
Are GitHub Octernship opportunities remote?
Yes! All participating organizations display only remote opportunities so that students from all regions can participate.
How long are GitHub Octernship projects?
The projects can vary in duration from one to six months.
Partners
Is my organization eligible to participate in the program?
Eligible organizations must be located in a country not embargoed by the US.
Does GitHub charge any fees to participate in the program?
No. GitHub does not charge organizations to participate in the program.
What is the stipend amount assigned to students participating in the program?
Partner organizations must be able to provide a minimum stipend of 500 USD per month per student.
How can we become a partner organization?
Just fill out this form. We will review the information and contact you with the next steps in two weeks or less.
What kinds of projects can we host as a part of the program?
We are looking for Open source and software development projects in many ways, including documentation, design, development, testing etc.
