CORONAVIRUS/Taiwan reports 80 new COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

Taipei, July 3 (CNA) Taiwan on Saturday reported 80 new cases of COVID-19, all but four of which were domestic infections, as well as 10 deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

The new cases bring the total in the country to 14,991, of which over 13,500 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded more than 100 COVID-19 cases in a single day.

The 10 deaths reported Saturday were five men and five women, in their 50s to 90s, who passed away between June 26 and July 2, the CECC said.

To date, 686 people in Taiwan have died of COVID-19, including 674 since May 15.
