More Critic Reviews for AJ and the Queen Season 1 All Critics (9) | Top Critics (5) | Fresh (6) | Rotten (3) There are moments that feel a little jarring... Beyond those moments, there are so many freewheeling touches over the course of the season that keep the fun alive. Jan 10, 2020 | Rating: B+ | Full Review… Liz Shannon Miller AV Club Top Critic Whatever its intention, AJ and the Queen is indeed awful. But it's not good because of it. Jan 10, 2020 | Full Review… Kathryn VanArendonk New York Magazine/Vulture Top Critic RuPaul, a well of warmth, cultivates natural bonhomie with the young actress, who plays AJ with alternating brattiness and protectiveness. They're both wounded birds trying to buoy each other in a harsh reality. Jan 10, 2020 | Full Review… Robyn Bahr Hollywood Reporter Top Critic AJ and the Queen has its moments, but in its quest to find a beating heart, it winds up feeling like a bit of a drag. Jan 10, 2020 | Rating: 2/5 | Full Review… Rebecca Nicholson Guardian Top Critic Even RuPaul has his limitations. Jan 10, 2020 | Full Review… Daniel D'Addario Variety Top Critic A sweet and emotionally satisfying ride. Jan 10, 2020 | Full Review… Joel Keller Decider Do you like drag queens? Do you like classic buddy comedies? Have you always wished to see RuPaul as a ginger? Well, does Netflix have a show for you! Jan 10, 2020 | Full Review… Joey Moser Awards Daily Despite all of our previous criticisms, AJ and the Queen did manage to win us over in the end too, as it just veers on the right side of tacky yet heartfelt entertainment. Jan 10, 2020 | Full Review… David Opie Digital Spy Even without RuPaul, Netflix's AJ and the Queen would be great. Jan 10, 2020 | Full Review… Alison Foreman Mashable View All Critic Reviews (9) Audience Reviews for AJ and the Queen: Season 1 58m ago ....this is embarrassingly bad - horribly written, edited, and -short of some glimmers of hope- abysmally acted - torturous to get through even episode one. Being queer and a drag performer I'm almost upset. I love all those involved but we need to stop enabling bad art in the name of gay. Rosalind H 2h ago A refreshing series which talks about compassion and not enough shown lifestyles. Eil E 2h ago I really like it, is great to see so much representation of LGTB+ in the TV and streamings. Gaspar S 3h ago Super sweet. Great message of acceptance and self worth. Fun twists and turns. Can't wait for season 2. Amanda K 5h ago This is so good, love It!
