    Nationally we have a two tier grading system. That is lying to students of color about how well they are actually doing. This is NOT about students ability this is about adult bias and choices. Students are not even getting access to rigorous content.

    To those judging the people protesting because “we are in the middle of a pandemic...” George Floyd had COVID-19, but coronavirus didn’t kill him.... racism did. That is our protest.

    I've stood alongside in attempt after attempt to finally pass anti-lynching legislation. On the day of George Floyd's memorial, today would've been a symbolic day to come together and do it. But one person stands in the way.

    I didnt make US squatters. America does that. My words have no bearing on the slow genocide of African Americans. I am objectively describing our plight. William Patterson, Claudia Jones, Du Bois and other signatories documented this in the 1950s

    It is truly painful to be in meetings where people are moving right in to work & not creating space to discuss what is happening in our society. Work can and should happen but we should pause & allow for folks to share how they are and what they need, & ID how your org can change

    I woke up cried and then prayed. I'm tired and pray that this death pricks those in power as if it was a death of someone they loved. May that cause hearts to shift and something to be done differently. Riots serve as a visual depiction of the pain that the silenced feel.
