Versions

  • GitHub Extension for Visual Studio version: 2.6.0.6193
  • Visual Studio version: 15.9.14 (Enterprise)

What happened

I have added a docs folder and added a pull request template on my master branch. When I create a pull request for my master branch via the GitHub website I can normally see the description pre-filled with the template. However, when I create a pull request via the GitHub Extension for Visual Studio description is empty.

Steps to Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Add a template for Pull Requests(https://help.github.com/en/articles/creating-a-pull-request-template-for-your-repository)
  2. Try to create a Pull Request for your master branch via GitHub's online site
  3. Try to create a Pull Request for your master branch via GitHub's Visual Studio extension
  4. See error (description is empty)

Expected behavior

The description should be pre-filled with the template.
