Most meetings that Keiko Claassen attends at ITT Motion Technologies are held in English. Even though her company is based in Italy and she’s Dutch and works near Rotterdam, every senior staffer is expected to conduct business in English. At one meeting a few years ago, Claassen, the company’s executive director of communications, realized that communication involves much more than just speaking the same language.
