In PostgreSQL there is TimescaleDB extension, that allows you to create partitions by any datetime column, and easy way to remove partitions older then X. It’t not 1to1 same as you ask, but a way to achieve sth similar.

  5. Question for your Postgres gurus out there, does it support ‘capped table’ or even better TTL indexes, like MongoDB does since erm.. forever? I’m not trolling, just curious, because the only alternative I’m left with is using a trigger which, coming from Mongo, looks so eighties

One thing I like about Star Trek:TNG is how optimistic of a future it paints. Poverty is eradicated, people are generally good and try to better themselves, and the entire galaxy recognizes that 4:3 screens are the best aspect ratio.

Such an important influence upon so much of the music we know, from Bowie, to electronica, much of the 80s and beyond into modern techno and rap, Florian Schneider was forging a new Metropolis of music for us all to live in. RIP

I will let out a bit of a secret. I have been running a full IBM System/370 Mainframe on a $5 Raspberry Pi Zero for ~5 years. About 7 times faster System/370. Millions of lines of COBOL JCLs running flawless on a battery. Tested an entire bank’s mainframe COBOL on it.

Some nerds I know passively dismiss sports. I learned just as much playing Football as playing Dungeons and Dragons. Variety and perspective in all things. Never judge a culture broadly. Their is a beauty in everything, especially when you participate.
