    A new flat look is welcome when possible but right now Eclipse is fully mature for production and it's easier to use than IJ. Eclipse 2019.12 -M2 now is faster, stable and modular than the recent releases so I can't wait for the Stable release.

    2019-12 will be better but I plan to improve that in 2020-03 more.

    Yes, I just verified that. Nevertheless Eclipse doesn't look very modern compared to IJ. It doesn't fit in with e.g. GNOME (or even other GTK applications like Gimp) because it doesn't use a flat design approach.

    Adding the release date to the splash was a great way to remind the users to update the IDE from time to time. I frequently meet users using Oxygen or Neon or Mars but rarely users using 2018-12.

    Also you will enjoy the upcoming 2019-12 release, which is much faster.

    Unpopular opinion: I switched back to after playing with and for a few months. My productivity increased instantly. I remembered all the shortcuts, and refactoring was a non-event. I guess all those years of muscle memory are hard to forget.

    Java still doesn’t have this? Every time it surprises me that Java is so popular although the language is becoming the modern Cobol (language-feature-wise)

    2019-12 M2 is working perfectly smooth at 6:27 PM. No crashes, no lags, no problems at all. Love this IDE. later I will update if anything goes wrong.
