The Ice Breaker Bash kicked off season ticket sales at Bridgestone Arena and attracted more than 12,000 hockey fans for three hours of hockey demonstrations, displays and interactive games.

The Nashville Predators hosted the franchise's first NHL game versus the Florida Panthers. In front of a sellout crowd of 17,298, Ray Whitney scored the only goal of the 1-0 game and the Panthers' Kirk McLean earned the shutout.

The Nashville Predators defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 to net the first victory in franchise history. Andrew Brunette notched the first goal in franchise history at 5:12 in the first period.
January 24, 1999
Sergei Krivokrasov became the first Predator to appear in an NHL All-Star Game. He played for the World All-Stars in the game played at Tampa Bay's Ice Palace.

The Predators opened their practice facility at Centennial Sportsplex.

The Nashville Predators closed out their inaugural season with a 4-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils. The Predators drew a total of 664,000 (16,202, 94 percent capacity) and amassed a 28-47-7 record.
October 6-7, 2000
The Predators opened the 2000-01 season with a two-game series against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Saitama Super Arena outside of Tokyo, Japan. Both games finished with a score of 3-1, with the Predators winning the first and the Penguins the second. The two games drew the two largest crowds ever to witness hockey games in Japan (13,849 for the first game, 13,426 for the second).

General Manager David Poile was one of three recipients of the 2001 Lester Patrick Award, an honor presented annually "for outstanding service to hockey in the United States."

The Predators unveiled an alternate jersey. The gold sweater featured an animated saber-toothed tiger logo on the crest and a pair of tiger skulls on the shoulders, and was worn through the 2006-07 season.

Greg Johnson was named the second captain in team history. Scott Walker also wore the "C" on an interim basis (January 12-27) for Nashville in 2002-03.

The Nashville Predators hosted the 2003 NHL Entry Draft at Bridgestone Arena and made 13 picks overall, including eight of the first 98 players selected in what has become known as the top-producing draft in NHL history. More than 13,000 fans attended the two-day event which had an estimated economic impact of nearly $10 million on Middle Tennessee.

Jordin Tootoo makes his debut with Nashville, becoming the first player of Inuit descent to play in the NHL.

Scott Hartnell scores the 1000th goal in Predators franchise history in OT against Anaheim.

For the first time since the team's inaugural season, Nashville was represented in the NHL All-Star Game. Kimmo Timonen (who was named to the Game in 1999, but did not participate due to injury) and Tomas Vokoun both played for the Western Conference at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

On the second-to-last day of the 2003-04 regular season, a loss by the Edmonton Oilers clinched the Predators' first-ever berth in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Predators headed to Detroit to take on the top-seeded Red Wings in the franchise's first playoff game. Despite a goal off the stick of Adam Hall only 16 seconds into the game, Detroit claimed a 3-1 win.

In the first home playoff game in team history, the Predators earned their first playoff victory, a 3-1 decision over Detroit.

The Predators announced the signing of free-agent forward Paul Kariya, the initial First-Team NHL All-Star to sign with Nashville.

In their second game of the 2005-06 season, the Predators won their first shootout, a 3-2 victory over Anaheim. Paul Kariya scored the game-deciding shootout goal against his former team.

Nashville defeated Calgary 9-4 at Bridgestone Arena for its 40th win of the 2005-06 season, the first 40-win season in franchise history. The Predators ended the season with a record of 49-25-8 and led the NHL with 32 home wins.

Paul Kariya netted a hat trick as part of a four-point game in Nashville's 6-3 win over Detroit in the team's 2005-06 regular-season finale. Kariya finished the season with 31 goals and 85 points, the latter being a franchise record. Steve Sullivan also netted 31 goals, and he and Kariya became the first Predators to score 30 or more goals in a season.

Kimmo Timonen represented Nashville in the 55th NHL All-Star Game in Dallas while Head Coach Barry Trotz served as an assistant coach for the Western Conference in the Game.

With a 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues, Nashville hit the 50-win mark for the first time in franchise history. The club would end the 2006-07 regular season with a record of 51-23-8 for a franchise-record 110 points.

The Sporting News announces its 2006-07 awards and Predators GM David Poile was named NHL Executive of the Year and Head Coach Barry Trotz was named Coach of the Year. Both honors were determined by a vote of their peers.

David Legwand notched three points (1g-2a) in the third period of a 5-4 shootout win at Montreal. His first point (a goal) was the 302nd of his NHL career, moving him past Kimmo Timonen into sole possession of first place on the franchise's all-time scoring list.

Predators Holdings LLC., completed its purchase of the Nashville Predators and Powers Management (the company that operates Bridgestone Arena) for $193 million from Craig Leipold and took over the day-to-day operation of the Predators and Bridgestone Arena.

Steve Sullivan becomes Nashville's first NHL award recipient, winning the Bill Masterton Trophy, given to the player who "best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey." Sullivan returned on Jan. 10, 2009 from a 23-month absence due to injury.

The Predators and Bridgestone Americas, Inc. announced a multi-year naming rights and marketing partnership for team's venue, naming it Bridgestone Arena.

Nashville defensemen Shea Weber (Canada) and Ryan Suter (United States) clash in the Gold Medal Game of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Weber's Canadian squad claims gold with a 3-2 overtime victory, with Suter earning silver while logging a game-high 31:31 of ice time. Weber is named to the Olympic All-Tournament Team.

Led by two tallies from J-P Dumont, the Preds scored four-straight, third-period goals to claim a 4-1 victory over Chicago in Game One of the teams' Western Conference Quarterfinal Series. It is the first road playoff win in franchise history.

Predators Head Coach Barry Trotz is named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award, given annually to the NHL's top coach. It is the second time in franchise history someone from the organization is nominated for an NHL Award. Nashville receives more 13 inches of rain over a two day-period destroying the Predators locker room. The city was declared a Federal Disaster Area and damages cost the city nearly $2 billion. The Predators began renovations shortly after to prepare for the start of the 2010-11 season.

Captain Shea Weber participates in his second-straight All-Star Game, forming a pairing with future Hall-of-Famer Nicklas Lidstrom to post a +6 rating while racking up four assists, becoming just the second defenseman in All-Star Game history to amass four helpers.

The Predators acquire center Mike Fisher from the Ottawa Senators for two draft picks. He would post eight points in the club's final seven regular-season contests to secure a playoff berth, then lead the team with six points in six games during their first playoff series victory in franchise history.

Brentwood, Tennessee, native and Predators' 2006 second-round pick Blake Geoffrion makes his NHL debut, becoming the first Tennessee native, and first fourth-generation NHLer to appear in the League. He scored his first goal two games later at Edmonton, and became the youngest player in franchise history to notch a hat trick in his 11th career game on March 20 at Buffalo.

General Manager David Poile is the first of four in the organization to earn a nomination for the 2011 NHL Awards, becoming the finalist for the GM of the Year Award in each of its first two years of existence. Two days later, Pekka Rinne is nominated for the Vezina Trophy, followed by Shea Weber being named a finalist for the Norris Trophy three days later. Head Coach Barry Trotz caps the parade to Las Vegas with his second-straight Jack Adams nomination four days later, giving Nashville the second-most nominees at the Awards show.

Nashville's spring of "firsts" begins as Jerred Smithson scores at 1:57 of extra time to lift the Predators to a 4-3 victory at the Honda Center in Anaheim. It was the Predators' first playoff overtime victory, first Game Five victory and first time winning three games in a playoff year. Two nights later in Game Six, the Predators would top the Ducks 4-2 at Bridgestone Arena to win their first playoff series in franchise history.

Predators rookie forward Matt Halischuk ends Game Two of the Western Conference Semifinals at 14:51 of double overtime, putting a shot over Vancouver goaltender Roberto Luongo's glove for a 2-1 win at Rogers Arena. The win tied the series at one game apiece.

On his 29th birthday, goaltender Pekka Rinne signed a seven-year, $49 million contract, then proceeded to shut out the Phoenix Coyotes that night, stopping 35 shots in a 3-0 victory.

The franchise plays its 1,000th regular-season game against the Montreal Canadiens. David Poile became the first general manager in NHL history to record 1,000 games with two separate franchises (Washington from 1982-97) while Barry Trotz became just the fourth coach to spend 1,000 games behind the bench of a single franchise.

Nashville recorded the 500th regular-season victory in club history with a 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. The Predators hit the milestone in 1,062 games, the fewest in the post-1990 expansion era. David Poile became the first GM to guide two separate clubs to 500 wins, and Barry Trotz became just the fifth bench boss to post 500 wins with a single team.

With a 2-1 victory at Bridgestone Arena, the Predators eliminate the Detroit Red Wings in five games of their Western Conference Quarterfinal Series. Not only is it the shortest series victory in franchise record (at the time), but marks the first postseason win over the team long looked to as the king of the Central Division. It also made the Predators the only team in the Western Conference to advance to the second round in both 2011 and 2012.

For the second consecutive season, four members of the organization are finalists at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas. Mike Fisher became the second award winner in franchise history, earning the NHL Foundation Award which recognizes an NHL player who "applies the core values of hockey - commitment, perseverance and teamwork - to enrich the lives of people in his community." Both Pekka Rinne (Vezina) and Shea Weber (Norris) are finalist for awards given to the top players at their respective positions for the second-straight year, while David Poile is nominated for the GM of the Year Award for the third-straight campaign.

Bridgestone Arena officially opened the SoBro entrance at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Demonbreun, one of several stages of renovations done to continually improve patrons' experiences in the building. The SoBro entrance is home to Tavern '96, Bridgestone Arena's first outside accessible restaurant featuring indoor and outdoor seating, food and more than 60 beer options.

Spearheaded by the generosity of Predators Captain Shea Weber and goaltender Pekka Rinne, the Predators Foundation announced the rebranding of the Nashville Predators Pediatric Cancer Fund at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt to the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund. As part of the 365 Fund, Weber and Rinne purchased two suites at Bridgestone Arena to host patients and families from the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital.

Ten months after the Nashville Predators and Metro Nashville Government broke ground on the new recreation center and ice rink development at Global Mall at the Crossings in Antioch, Tennessee, the Ford Ice Center officially opened for business. Ford Ice Center, named in partnership with the Mid-South Ford Dealers, is a component of a public-private partnership between the Nashville Predators and Metro to help continue the growth of hockey and all forms of recreational ice skating in Middle Tennessee.

In a press conference at Bridgestone Arena that included National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, Predators CEO Jeff Cogen and Bridgestone Americas President and CEO Gary Garfield, the NHL announced that the Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Arena would host the 2016 NHL All-Star Game on Jan. 30 and 31, 2016.

Predators General Manager David Poile won his 1,171st game as an NHL general manager in Nashville's 3-2 shootout win over Boston, moving him past Harry Sinden and into second place in all-time victories by a general manager, trailing only Glen Sather.

For the third time in five seasons, goaltender Pekka Rinne is named a finalist for the Vezina Trophy after tying for second in the NHL in wins, ranking third in goals-against average (2.18) and seventh in save percentage (.923). Twelve days later, Head Coach Peter Laviolette was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award for the second time in his career after leading the club back to the playoffs in his first season behind the team's bench.

After securing the best record in the NHL at the midpoint of the season on Jan. 10, the Nashville Predators coaching staff - led by Head Coach Peter Laviolette - represent the club at 2015 All-Star Weekend. They are joined by Shea Weber, making his fourth consecutive All-Star Weekend appearance, and rookie Filip Forsberg. Pekka Rinne was also named, but did not participate due to injury. Weber won the Hardest Shot Competition with a 108.5 mph blast, while Forsberg became the first Pred to score in an All-Star Game, tallying twice for Team Toews.

Bridgestone Arena was named 2014 Arena of the Year by Pollstar Magazine, an industry-leader in concert industry and sports and entertainment news. This marked the first time that Bridgestone Arena has taken home the top venue honor after being nominated 11 times, including in each of the past eight years, and the first time a building not in California or New York has won the award since its inception in 1989.

In the blockbuster trade of the 2015-16 season, the Predators acquired their long-coveted No. 1 center in All-Star, 30-goal, 70-point man Ryan Johansen. To get Johansen, the Predators sent promising young defenseman Seth Jones to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The city of Nashville and the Predators host what is widely regarded as the most successful All-Star Weekend in League history. In addition to an outdoor concert series, red carpet attended by tens of thousands and picture-perfect weather, the game was played as a 3-on-3 tournament for the first time ever. The economic impact on the city was estimated at more than $25 million.

After staving off elimination with a 3-1 victory over Anaheim in Game Six of their First Round series two nights earlier, the Predators participate in - and win - their first Game Seven in franchise history, topping the Pacific Division-winning Ducks, 2-1, at the Honda Center to advance to the Second Round for the third time in franchise history.

Facing elimination on home ice for the second consecutive series in Game Six of their Round Two series with San Jose, the Preds receive a goal from rookie Viktor Arvidsson at 2:03 of overtime to again force Game Seven, the longest playoff run in franchise history at that time.

Then-Captain Shea Weber won the 2016 Mark Messier Leadership Award at the NHL Awards, becoming the third player in franchise history to win an NHL Award. Weber was personally selected by Messier for the award.

In the biggest transaction in franchise history and one of the largest one-for-one player trades in NHL history, the Predators acquired Norris Trophy-winning defenseman P.K. Subban from the Montreal Canadiens for captain Shea Weber.

Forward Mike Fisher was named the seventh captain in franchise history after being a full-time alternate captain for the four previous seasons.

In an on-going effort to give fans, players and performers the best possible facilities and atmosphere, Bridgestone Arena completed another renovation of more than $6 million, which included new seats and concrete finish in the Upper and Lower Bowl, eco-conscious restrooms and new concession stands. The renovation total is nearly $60 million in the last six years.

ESPN released its annual Ultimate Standings report, with the Predators ranking first overall in the categories of Fan Relations, Affordability and Stadium Experience. Overall, the club is second out of 30 NHL teams and sixth out of all 122 professional sports teams throughout the NHL, NFL, MLB and NBA.

Predators d-man P.K. Subban was named captain of the Central Division All-Star team for the 2017 NHL All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, Jan. 28-29, the first Predators player to be named captain of an NHL All-Star Team.

The Nashville Predators and Allstate Foundations announced a major investment in MEND, the four-year old violence prevention program of YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee. The NHL team made a commitment of $500,000 over a five-year period to support the initiative.

The Predators announced the development of a new ice rink at One Bellevue Place. This the second location the Preds have created to grow the sport of hockey through Middle Tennessee, the first being Ford Ice Center in Antioch. The Predators are now involved in three of Nashville's biggest recreational operations in Ford Ice Center, Centennial Sportsplex and Bellevue.

The Predators wrap up the home portion of their regular-season schedule by setting several attendance records. The team played to 100.2 percent capacity during the 2016-17 regular season, setting the single-season franchise attendance record with 703,555 fans, with a franchise-best 41 games being recorded as sellouts, the first time in franchise history.

The Nashville Predators Foundation's philanthropic pursuits reached new heights with the largest grant allocation in the organization's history with 129 grants totaling $500,103 distributed to area charities. Between grants and other charitable donations, such as player ticket programs and fund-raising efforts, the Foundation donated nearly $1 million in cash to community organizations during the 2016-17 season.

The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation estimated the overall economic impact from a record 11 home playoff games for the Preds exceeded $50 million, including $8 million for each game of the Stanley Cup Final. Game Six of the Stanley Cup Final was on the same weekend as CMA Fest, whose events pooled more than 100,000 people downtown and an estimated $2.7 million for Nashville in sales tax.
