There's a definite lack of consistency with this series, but Empire Season 4 seems to be starting combat the issue by bringing in some new series regulars, and I hope that means the weaker characters will be fazed out.
By finally giving Cookie the spotlight above Empire's name, the show is suggesting this will finally be the Year Of Cookie when it comes the company she built with her blood, sweat, tears, and incarceration.
[Terrance] Howard is one of the great/weird actors of our generation. Yeah, we've watched so much Empire that we're used to Howard as the bully of the bunch, but as the new Lucious, Howard has transformed on camera
The show remains watchable, but feels like a chore.
This new story line is a lot more interesting than I expected, which might solely be a testament to Terrence Howard's phenomenal acting.
What is Empire without a big, bad Lucious Lyon? Pretty good, actually.
