EPUB & Digital Formats
BISG develops industry-wide best practices that support the production, distribution, marketing, sale, discovery, and use of content in digital form. BISG officially endorses EPUB 3 as the format of choice when representing, packaging, and encoding structured and semantically enhanced Web content.
Published in August 2012, this official Policy Statement addresses the critical need for the global book publishing industry to rally around EPUB 3 as the singluar standard for the creation of digital content.
Recently updated! BISG EPUB 3 Grid, located at EPUBTest.org, now support evaluations for reading system accessibility support.
To help address some of the challenges facing digital content creators, BISG, through its Content Structure Committee's Fixed Layout for E-Books Working Group, has created a Field Guide to Fixed Layout for E-Books.
